About Jaipur
Jaipur is the capital city of Rajasthan. It pays tribute and homage to the royal blood family that previously ruled the region and inherently founded what is now known as the Old City, also known as “Pink City” due to the colour of its trademark buildings. The opulent, colonnaded City Palace Complex stands at the centre of its stately street grid. Part of it is still a royal residence with gardens, courtyards, and museums.
Jaipur is known as the Pink City of India and serves as the state capital of Rajasthan. Jaipur is well-known for its Rajasthani traditional jewellery, handicrafts fabrics, as well as its traditional Rajasthani cuisine.
The city is also famous for its sweets, food and snacks. The most popular among them include bhujia,Dal Baati and Pyaaj kachori., malaidar special lassi (lassi) and Lashun ki chutney (hot garlic paste), Mawa lassi from Jodhpur, Alwar ka mawa, Mirchi vada, Malpauas, and rasgulla.
Our concern
Even in the largest city of India, where people from all over the country visit to rejoice in the rich cultural heritage, there are still people who sleep on the pavements, with no money and a starving family waiting to be fed. While we’re celebrating life at gatherings and parties, visiting forts and being blown away by the lavish lives led by kings and queens, these underprivileged members of our society have no option but to resort to begging. They are helpless.
Our aim
We aim to make sure all the people living in Jaipur, the pink city go to sleep with a full stomach. We urge you to eradicate hunger from this city and do the least by providing everyone with a meal, to have the energy to get through the day. We want to build a community of our fellow citizens, to help those in need.
How does Roti Bank help?
We as a community, of our selfless and diligent members, act as a bridge between people who have surplus food, and people who have a scarcity of food. During festivities in Jaipur, along with joyous celebrations, often there is a surplus of food, which goes to waste. Roti Bank collects this leftover food and gives it to the poor and the needy.
Even in marriages, parties, birthdays, or family gatherings, no amount of food is less,
Every bite makes a difference.
How can you donate?
There are two ways in which you can bring a change and donate food to the poor.
- You can contact us to collect leftover food from your doorstep. This food will be given to the hungry children and people in the city.
- You can also donate us a sum of money, from which food will be purchased for the poor, without a single penny going into our own pockets.
We aspire to make progress, not profits.
Our Plead
We urge you all to join hands and reunite forces to donate food to the needy, to give them a good meal, and for them to feel lucky in this magical city. Let’s make Jaipur a beautiful and prosperous city, for all its residents.
Don’t forget to feed the poor, the next time you come to Jaipur!
